Concord Police K-9 'Yogi' Demonstrates a Bite in Todos Santos

Locals got a chance to see a Concord police officer sic his dog on a padded volunteer Tuesday as part of a bite demonstration for National Night Out.

Officer Kevin Halm and K-9 "Yogi" occupied a space cordoned off with police tape in front of the Todos Santos stage, while an audience gathered around to watch and ask questions.

In the demonstration, Halm shouted "hey you, stop right there. I'm going to send in my dog," before giving Yogi a command to apprehend the man. The dogs are taught to bite on the arm, said Halm, although they do bite elsewhere in some cases.

"Did you see that grip?" exclaimed one woman in the audience. "So strong!"
