Clayton Man Arrested After Driving Truck Into Car With Teens

The suspect chased five juveniles in his truck through Clayton and into Concord after he saw them toilet-papering his house.

A 47-year old man was arrested on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, after he slammed his truck into car full of kids early Thursday morning, according to Clayton Police.

The suspect, Clayton resident Paul Boyd, allegedly chased the five juveniles through Clayton and into Concord after he caught them toilet-papering his front yard and putting pudding on his truck on Tiffin Drive at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

Caught red-handed, the juvenlies tried to flee from the house, driving away in a Honda. But Boyd, with his 14-year-old son with him in the truck, pursued them, and allegedly slammed his Dodge into the Honda on North Mitchell Canyon Road, less than a mile from Tiffin Drive.

But the chase continued. The juveniles continued to try and get away in their damaged car, but Boyd didn't stop going after them.

In search of help, the juveniles called the police from a cell phone in the car as the chase went into Concord.

Clayton Police responded and eventually arrested Boyd on Port Chicago Highway and Floyd Lane, about seven miles from the house, at about 1:40 a.m.

Along with assault with a deadly weapon, Boyd faces charges of vandalism, willful cruelty to a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor.
