Injuries were serious, not life-threatening, Antioch police say.

Bay City News Service

A 9-year-old Clayton boy and his father, 52, were seriously injured Sunday morning when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car in Antioch, according to Antioch police.

The crash was reported at 10:56 a.m. at the intersection of Deer Valley Road and Balfour Road, police said.

A 40-year-old Brentwood woman was turning south onto Deer Valley Road from Balfour Road when she collided with the father and son, who were riding north on Deer Valley Road on a motorcycle, police reported.

The woman driver was not injured in the crash, but the boy and his father were airlifted to hospitals with serious, not life-threatening, injuries, police said.

Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.
