Bicycle Officers Catch ATM Robber in Parking Garage
Concord police: Man had brandished a gun, stolen cash from a victim at a bank machine and fled on foot; no injuries.
Bicycle patrol officers pursued a bank ATM robber early Monday afternoon and arrested him in a downtown parking garage, recovering a gun in the process.
The man, who resisted arrest, was booked on suspicion of robbery, Concord Police Lt. David Hughes said in an email.
Police did not identify the suspect.

The man had brandished a gun at an individual using a bank ATM near Todos Santos Plaza, robbed the victim of cash and fled on foot. Shortly afterward, a citizen flagged down Concord police bicycle officers.
Witnesses to the robbery pointed out the suspect to the officers, who chased him to the parking garage, Hughes said.

No injuries were reported. The suspect was transported to the jail in Concord.
Detectives from the Concord police Major Crimes Unit have assumed the investigation, Hughes said.
