Arrests in Concord Nov. 2 to Nov. 8: Drugs, Domestic Abuse, Hit & Run
This snapshot from the Concord Police Department tallies the 65 arrests in the past week by type of charge and the arrestee's city of residence. Last week, domestic abuse cases went up and two drivers were arrested for causing deaths or injuries.
The following information is taken from the Concord Police Department's weekly arrest report. Names and full addresses have been omitted for privacy reasons. An arrest does not represent a conviction until determined in court.
How many arrests were there this week? There were 65 arrests listed in the Concord Police Department's report for Nov. 2 to Nov. 8, compared to 55 in the previous week.
Who was arrested? A total of 43 arrestees were from Concord, up from last week's tally of 28 and making up the majority of arrests, followed by out-of-towners with 14 arrests and transients with nine arrests.

What they were arrested for? The charges with the highest number of arrests were for the possession of drugs (12), DUIs (9), and domestic battery (5). There was also one charge of vehicular manslaughter after a driver hit and killed an elderly man at a crosswalk on Clayton Road.
