Armed Robbery At Sunvalley Shopping Center

Three men stole jewelry from Macy's Wednesday evening. One man was armed but no shots were fired, Concord police report.

Police are investigating a Wednesday evening robbery of jewelry counters at Macy's in the Sunvalley Shopping Center.

A Concord police news release gave the following account:

At about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Concord police received a call from Macy's about a robbery in progress. When officers responded, they heard the three suspects had already fled.

Earlier, the three had approached the jewelry counter. One was armed. They jumped the counter and broke into jewelry cases and stole items. They then fled out of the store into a vehicle, which drove out of the mall parking lot.

No shots were fired. No injuries were reported.

The vehicle was later recovered, unoccupied, a few blocks away in the city of Pleasant Hill.
