Officers tried to contact Burns to serve the warrant, but the driver of the car allegedly drove off and rammed an occupied police vehicle.

Burns allegedly ran from the car, which was when two officers fired and hit him.

According to police, the officers feared for their safety.

Police unsuccessfully attempted to revive Burns with life-saving techniques.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, police said.

Antioch and Concord police and the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office are investigating the shooting.
