A 22-year-old Pittsburg man who was badly injured in a solo-car
wreck on state Highway 4 in Concord over the weekend was believed to be
driving under the influence of alcohol, a California Highway Patrol officer
The man was driving east on Highway 4 near the Solano Way exit at
high speeds at 11:59 p.m. Saturday when the car went off of the roadway and
rolled down an embankment, through a chain-link fence and into a telephone
pole, CHP Officer John Fransen said.
