Update: Missing 83-Year-Old Woman Located in Concord

A good samaritan recognized her and took her to a nearby church.

A missing 83-year old woman was found Friday afternoon on Clayton Road and taken to a nearby church by a good samaritan, according to family members.

Her family members began asking the public for help locating Mara Ioffe when they discovered she was missing from her home in Concord, California at about 11 a.m. on Friday. Mara Ioffee has Alzheimer’s disease and does not speak English. Friday is her live-in caretaker’s day off.

Police began searching for the missing woman with police dogs, according to Ioffee’s granddaughter, Karina Ioffee, after a family member filed a missing person report.

Patch published a description of her on Friday. Ioffee was found at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday, five miles from her home near Melody Dr. and Wharton. She was dehydrated but otherwise uninjured, according to her granddaughter.

"Someone saw her walking and recognized her," Karina Ioffee said.

Mara is now with her daughter.
