Rascism at Carondelet High

Yesterday during school announcements, an african american student was told to read an announcement that included: (paraphrased) in honor of MLK, the cafeteria would be serving watermelon and fried chicken. The instigator was one of the school's teachers. Afterward there was an apology made to just the girl. No word if any action against the teacher at fault. I am a white student but this troubles me deeply - especially the inadequate response from the school. There may only be 3-4 african american girls here, but this is unacceptable. I feel like the school is sweeping this under the rug.
