Concord, Clayton Death Notices

A list of some of the people with ties to Concord and Clayton who passed away recently

Adam R. Elliot: A graduate of Clayton Valley High School, Elliot pitched in the New York Mets minor league system. He worked in the construction industry after retiring from professional baseball in 2005. He coached youth sports and loved to fish, play golf and go to the shooting range. Elliot died in his sleep in Las Vegas on June 25 at the age of 29.

Anne Paye: A native of Berkeley and a 1963 graduate of Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, Paye was the first person in her family to attend college. She obtained a master's degree in English from Stanford. She taught for 43 years, mostly in the Foothill-De Anza Community College District. Paye passed away on June 20 at the age of 67.

Grover Peterson: A long-time resident of Clayton, Peterson graduated from Piedmont High and then obtained a degree from U. C. Berkeley in 1940. He was a World War II veteran who worked for U.S. Steel in Pittsburg. He volunteered at the Clayton library until he was 90. Peterson passed away last month at the age of 95.

Angelina Formoso: A resident of Concord, Formoso was an avid sports fan. She passed away on June 28 at the age of 81.
