Accomplishment: Kim is one girl who's not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. As Co-President of the "Be the Change" club at Northgate High School, she works hard everyday to combat social problems. "We are the largest 'Be the Change' club in the nation," says Kim, "(We) work hard everyday to break down cliques and stop bullying at high schools and middle schools".

And her passion doesn't end there. Kim also writes about what she stands for, as a Co-Editor in Chief of Northgate's newspaper, the Northgate Sentinel. She is also Senior Class Vice President and a Cadet at the Walnut Creek Police Department (which basically means she learns what it's like to be a police officer).

So with all these commitments, how does Kim even have time to breathe? Well, she's used to it.

"I've always loved to be involved, so this state of constant busyness is something I'm used to," smiles Kim, pointing out that "busyness" is a word she is very familiar with. "I love to help out as much as possible...so I have a lot of practice with organizing my life and managing my time appropriately".

And it helps that Kim is passionate about what she does.

"I don't get involved with things just to boost my résumé or college application, I do it because I love to" she shrugs. "If it's something I'm interested in, it's not a matter of whether or not I can make time for it in my schedule, it's a matter of how I'm going to make time for it in my schedule".

Plans for the Future: Kim wants to go to a four-year college, with the ultimate goal of becoming a police academy graduate. Who knows, maybe she'll work her way up to the FBI. "Yeah", Kim laughs, "that's about a five year plan."

Advice to Other Students: "Only do something you are willing to dedicate a lot of time and effort to. If you are passionate about it, it won't be difficult to achieve everything you hope to. And that works for any field you're interested in."
