Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at the 2012 Bay Area KidFest

Thousands are expected to participate in this weekend's 2012 Bay Area KidFest Saturday through Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.

Kids from all over the Bay are showing up in Concord this Memorial Day Weekend to frolic in the sun for the 2012 Bay Area KidFest.

Admission is $5 if you bring a can of food - which will be donated to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano - or $6 cash without a donation. Babies and seniors 65+ get in for free and profits benefit local organizations.

KidFest is a three-day event, starting Saturday May 26, through Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.

Where: Mt. Diablo High School, 2450 Grant St.

The festival will feature a noon ceremony on Memorial Day, Monday. The United States Army Color Guard along with the Junior ROTC from Mt. Diablo High School will be on hand, along with singers performing patriotic music to honor those who have served and died for America.

Acitivities

Nonstop activities include Live Shark Encounter, police K-9 demonstrations, BMX Bike Stunt Team, Kids’ Town America, face painting, onstage entertainment, balloon art, bounces and crawls, fire truck, SpongeBob SquarePants, Monster Mural, sport games, 100 arts & crafts and exhibitor booths, food court, rides and more.
