Meet Capt. 'Sully' Sullenberger Thursday in Concord

Local resident Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger famously landed an emergency flight in New York City's Hudson river in 2009 - now, go shake his hand.

Hero pilot Capt. Chesley 'Sully' Sullenberger will be signing copies of his newest books at the in Concord, Thursday at 6 p.m.

Sullenberger, a Danville resident, gained international fame in January of 2009 when he safely commandeered U.S. Airways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River after a flock of geese struck and disabled the engines. All 155 passengers and crew survived, and the landing and subsequent rescue has been dubbed the 'miracle on the Hudson.'

Sullenberger's second book, Making a Difference, chronicles effective leadership strategies from visionaries across various professions, including educator Michelle Rhee; baseball manager Tony LaRussa; NASA flight director Gene Kranz; former governor of Michigan Jennifer Granholm; and others.
