Concord Celebrates The Grand Old Flag

The "Singing Flag" event has been a Independence Day tradition in Concord for 25 years.

Families picnicked on blankets in Dave Brubeck Park Tuesday for the first of three performances of the "Singing Flag" — a Fourth of July holiday celebration now in its 25th year.

The show continues July 3 and 4, with a children's play area and concession stands open from 4 p.m. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. and is followed by a fireworks display at around 9:15 p.m. The event is organized by Calvary Temple Church in Concord and is free, although donations are encouraged.

Watch the video above for a preview of the show, as performed on July 2, 2013.
