Bobcat Prowls Near Lime Ridge Area

Patch reader Lorraine Williams wrote in to alert us and her neighbors to a chicken-grabbing bobcat on the prowl in the Rancho Paraiso/Arbolado area of Walnut Creek, which borders the Lime Ridge Open Space near Concord.

"I lost all of my chickens to it last weekend and my neighbor a few blocks away just had the same thing happen today," Williams wrote in a Facebook message Sunday. "In broad daylight." 

Bobcats can threaten small animals. They are normally shy. Occasionally rabid bobcats attack humans, according to ehow.com.
