Buttercup Farms Garden CSA Launch!

The Buttercup Farms Garden CSA will launch Monday, June 4, 2012 and will have drop-off locations for fresh, organic produce in Clayton and Walnut Creek.

Are you looking for locally grown, organic produce in the Clayton, Concord and Walnut Creek areas? If so, you may find yourself in luck as Buttercup Farms Garden will launch its CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) on June 4, 2012.

Our garden is ready for harvesting and the first month of our CSA may include lettuce varieties, radishes, snap peas, tomato varieties, onions, and carrots. Further into the summer we will also offer varieties of peppers, squash, eggplant, cucumbers and leeks to name a few.

This has been an exciting time for me in the garden. In only three months I was able to help cultivate many of these plants from seeds or seedlings to fruiting. For someone who has little background in gardening this has been a great learning opportunity as Gary, our head gardener, has taught me so much about how to take care of all our different types of produce in the various stages of their life cycles. It is a real treat to gain so much knowledge first-hand and truly enjoyable to watch all our hard work, quite literally, come to fruition. In my short time here, I have watched, and helped – along with Gary and Chuck (our farm hand extraordinaire), our garden grow to include more raised beds, newly planted vegetables and the eradication of oh so many weeds. Thanks to our team effort what was once overgrown and little disheveled is now neat, organized and continues to grow. And with that, we look forward to sharing the fruits of our labor with you! (And I promise, no more fruit puns)...

We will deliver the boxes, which are $20 a box providing produce for 2-4 people weekly, each Monday between 6pm and 7pm.
