On Tap: Monument Wine & Spirits is Worth the Trip

This edition features a liquor store in Concord that few know much about, but is a treasure chest for rare and unique beers.

BEER! And lots of it! OK, now that I have your attention….

That’s just what you’ll find at Monument Wine & Spirits in Concord — an incredible selection of beer. Whether you’re looking for one of your favorites, or wanting to try something new, this is the right place for the best selection and prices.

BevMo and certain liquor stores in the area do a great job of carrying a generous variety, but everyone likes to find a new place — and a better price.

If you haven’t gone here yet, or even heard of it, Monument Wine & Spirits is worth a special trip. It's located at 2250 Monument Blvd in Concord. And you won’t find them anywhere else because they don’t have a website, official Facebook page or even seem to advertise. They only appear to be known in the neighborhood, by those in the beer industry or through word of mouth. But they do have positive reviews on Yelp.

Some rare or hard-to-find beers were I found on a recent trip there included; Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale, Lagunitas Brown Sugga, Red Trolley Ale and multiple selections from Marin Brewing.

Looking for a low-gluten beer? Of course you are… Well they have that. Organic?  Sure. They offer Farm to Bottle Extra Pale and Bison Organic IPA among others.

Have a more unique request than those? Feel free to ask anyone on their very helpful staff. They know their beer and — you know you want to drink the beer they sell. I’m sure you’ll work it out!

Interested in a cigar with your beer selection? Concord is home to the Bay Area's only mobile cigar lounge: CigaRv — The Mobile Man Cave. In the weeks ahead we'll tell you more about special cigar and beer events coming to the Concord area! In the meantime, check out the Mobile Man Cave at CigaRv.com  and Facebook.com/CigaRv.
