Map Shows Most And Least Expensive Areas To Rent a Home in Concord

Have you ever wondered how the rent in your neighborhood compares to other areas of Concord?

A new data-based website, Rich Blocks, Poor Blocks, uses U.S. census information compiled from the 2007-2011 American Community Survey to show median household income and monthly rents by census tract.

According to the map, one of the least expensive areas to rent a house or apartment in Concord is the stretch between I-680 and Highway 242 from where the freeways meet in the south to Highway 4 in the north. This area includes the Willows Shopping Center, Waterworld and the Buchanan Field Airport. The median monthly rent in this area is around $971.

A furnished studio apartment in the area is being advertised on Craigslist.com for $895 a month. A four bedroom home is going for $1750 a month.

The most expensive neighborhood is the Walnut Country community where the median rent is $1,858.
