Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar Open in Concord

This is the first Northern California location for the Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar chain.

A new dog-friendly restaurant opened in Concord, California on Thursday.

The Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar started serving globally inspired-dishes accompanied by cold brews in a freshly renovated space.

The space in the Willows Shopping Center that used to be an El Torito Mexican restaurant is now 7,818 square feet of Aspen lodge.

Chris Simms, founder and CEO of Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, was excited to join the local cuisine scene.

"With all the exciting things happening in the craft beer space and serious food culture in the bay area, it's always been a goal of ours to become part of that dynamic dining scene," Simms said.

"We were inspired by the strong community and spirit of hospitality in Concord and felt like it was the right place for us to set down some roots," he said.

The restaurant has 30 beers on tap, 25 bottled beers and one outdoor patio where you can hang out with your dog. The restaurant even has a dog menu.
