Lazy Dog Donates Thousands to Mt. Diablo Music

The new restaurant announced a partnership that allows people to donate spare change to charity.

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in Concord announced it is donating $3,362 to the Mount Diablo Music Education Foundation this holiday season. The restaurant, which opened in Concord on Nov. 14, raised the money during its pre- opening events. Most of the funds came from guest donations.

Joan Miller, president of the Mount Diablo Music Education Foundation, said that she was thrilled to be included in Lazy Dog’s opening fundraiser.

“We wish Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar much success and look forward to continuing our relationship in the months and years to come,” Miller said.

The company also announced it partnered with Round it Up America, which allows people to round up their checks to the nearest dollar. The extra change goes to a charity. In Lazy Dog’s case, it will go to Teach for America.

Chris Simms, CEO of Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, said the reason his restaurants are participating is that giving back has always been a core part of the culture at Lazy Dog.

"We love the sentiment behind Round it Up America that every cent counts and are excited that it allows our guests to work with us in support of this great cause," Simms said.

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar is a dog-friendly restaurant located in the Willow Pass Shopping Center that serves globally-inspired dishes and cold brews.
