From Nov. 14 to Dec. 25, Safeway will offer the opportunity to purchase a $10 pre-packed bag of groceries, which will be donated to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. You pay for the pre-packaged bag of groceries and place the bag in one of the in-store barrels, and the Food Bank will pick up the food each week. This is a quick, easy, inexpensive way to donate.
On Nov. 17, Kiwanis volunteers will be out in force at Safeway stores in the Bay Area encouraging you to donate. Watch NBC Bay Area all day on the 17th for food drive coverage. You will also have a chance to meet your favorite NBC Bay Area personalities while they are volunteering at various Safeway stores.
