The Delta: Its History, Beauty, and Its Future

Surveys show that 80 percent of Californians are unfamiliar with the Delta and its importance to the state's water supply.  Big Break Regional Shoreline is part of the great 1,680-square-mile Delta estuary in Northern California.  The water flowing past Big Break drains half of California's watershed, and creates the largest estuarine environment on Pacific shores- home to 70 species of birds and habitat for beavers, muskrats, and river otters.  Mike Moran will tell us the fascinating history of this area that is rich in wildlife and is critical to the entire state's water resources.  Doors open at 6:30pm.  All programs are FREE but require registration by phone at (925) 947-1678.
