In Our Backyard: Celebrating local, fresh and sustainable foods

On Saturday, February 8, 2014, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Contra Costa Master Gardeners and the City of Brentwood are teaming up to host In Our 
Own Backyard
, a celebration of local and sustainable, fresh food at the new 
Brentwood Community Center, 760 1st Street, Brentwood, California.

The day-long program includes a catered lunch featuring fresh local produce, a talk about improving soil in your home garden by Dr. Steve Andrews, and presentations by Brentwood farmers who have pioneered the region’s successful production of Sweet Corn and olive oil.

The event includes: hands-on demonstrations, a help desk staffed by Contra Costa Master Gardeners, and local vendors selling soaps, honey, yarn, jams and other agricultural products.  Tickets are $35 including lunch. For tickets and information:  ccmg.ucdavis.edu/Backyard
