CREEKSIDE ARTS 2014! "Mount Diablo...Rising from the Ashes", The Clayton Community Library celebrates it's 19th Birthday at FREE weekend festival...

Creekside Arts 2014! "Mount Diablo...Rising from the Ashes" All ages are invited to this FREE weekend of festivities on March 21 (6-8:30), March 22 (10-6pm) & March 23 (12-5pm).

This annual benefit highlights Mount Diablo and the recent fire and regeneration on our mountain at Morgan
Territory Road. Join us as a community and celebrate recovery,
renewal and restoration at this FREE fundraising benefit as we
creatively explore the arts, culture and nature while supporting
environmental education programs in the library’s certified

creekside wildlife habitat. Interactive entertainment for all ages,
include workshops in visual & performing arts, art sales,
cultural performances, storytelling, poetry, authors, illustrators
and music, environmental education groups and guided nature, culture
and art tours throughout Clayton.

SATURDAY (10am-6pm) – Ongoing ART SALES by over 30 artists & ECO GROUPS, art demo's, storytelling, art & nature tours, face painting, crafts, silent auction...

10-12:00 PLEIN AIRE painting, paint outdoors with Patsy Taylor, Walnut Creek Civic Arts
11:00-12:00 *NEW* COPPER ENAMELING demo,Rana Miller-Owen,artist

1:00-1:30   CORA'S QUILT: A Clayton Civil War Tale, Joy Koonin,
storyteller dressed in character as a young girl living on a farm on Mt. Diablo during the Civil War period. Craft follows with
authentic quilt patterns.
2:00-4:00  "DOC" HALE, Wildlife Field Biologist, ethnobotanist, and SAVE MT. DIABLO join together to discuss the "Mt. Diablo Morgan fire and the regeneration, outdoor Interpretive Tour follows with photo opportunities beginning at the library’s creekside habitat.
3:00-5:00 CLAYTON ARTWALK SPRING TOURJeffrey DeSalles, artist will be your tour guide throughout downtown Clayton beginning at the library, city hall, museum, more.
3:30-4:30 *NEW* MEET THE AUTHOR, ARTIST, ECO GROUP, join us for an informal Q & A.
