A film about the legendary coach's story is now in production.

Hollywood is tackling the legend of Bob LaDouceur and the De la Salle football team with a film based on the book When the Game Stands Tall.

The new movie is being directed by Thomas Carter, according to the Houston Chronicle. He is also the director of Coach Carter, another film about a Contra Costa County high school sports hero.

While Contra Costa County is clearly a source of sports movie material, it apparently does not make a good location when it comes time to roll film. Coach Carter, which was set in Richmond, was actually filmed in Long Beach. LaDouceur’s story is being made in New Orleans, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Who do you think should play LaDouceur? Leave a suggestion in the comments below.
