Penny by penny, gasoline prices continue their slow, midsummer rise back toward where they were in late spring.
In the East Bay, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now $3.80, according to a California State Automobile Association website.
That's three cents more than they were a week ago. However, it's still 10 cents lower than they were a month ago.

This is the second straight week gas prices have inched up at the pumps after falling throughout the month of June.
It's a similar story across California. The average price for unleaded regular is also $3.80 a gallon. That's 2 cents more than last week and 11 cents less than in mid-June.

Here is where you can find the cheapest gas stations for unleaded gasoline in the Clayton area, according to GasBuddy.com:
Arco — 2490 Monument Boulevard and Detroit Avenue — $3.59
Arco — 3400 Willow Pass Road and Farm Bureau Road — $3.59
At the gas stations closest to Clayton — the Shell and Valero on Kirker Pass Road and Clayton Road — a gallon of of unleaded gas is $3.89.
