Where is the Cheapest Gas Around Clayton?

To get the best deals on gas Claytonians have to go to Concord.

The price of gas keeps falling.

Nationally, the cost of a gallon of unleaded regular has dipped to $3.70, according to a California State Automobile Association web site that tracks gas prices. That's seven cents less than a week ago and 20 cents less than a month ago. It is, however, $1.27 higher than one year ago.

In California, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is now at $3.94. That's five cents less than last week and 24 cents cheaper than a month ago. It's $1.15 higher than in June, 2010.

But the question for Claytonians is: Where can I get the cheapest gas?

Bonfare Market — 2800 Grant Street and Solano Way (7 miles from downtown Clayton) — $3.75.
Arco — 2490 Monument Boulevard and Detroit Avenue (7.1 miles from downtown Clayton — $3.77.
Gas Max — 2799 Clayton Road and The Alameda (5.6 miles from downtown Clayton) — $3.77.
Ultra4321 Clayton Road and Glazier Drive (3.6 miles from downtown Clayton) — $3.77.
Gasco4323 Clayton Road and Glazier Drive (3.6 miles from downtown Clayton) — $3.77.
Note: The two gas stations closest to Clayton — the Valero and Shell stations on Clayton Road and Kirker Pass Road — the price for regular unleaded is $3.99.
