Where Are the Best Spots in the Bay Area for Fourth of July?

An American who has never experienced July 4 asks locals for advice.

I am an American who recently moved to the Concord area after spending my entire life in England, so this July 4 will be my first.

Independence Day isn't observed in England and I have never had the opportunity to embrace and appreciate my American heritage by celebrating this national holiday. And so, of course, I want to do it in style.

I feel that Fourth of July should be a day of not only colorful parades and beautiful fireworks, but the national sensation of pride to be part of such a wonderful, free society. And what better day to celebrate your nationality than the day America became an independent country?

I'm looking forward to experiencing something truly American, as I've only been out here for a week so far. I'd like to find some sites in the Bay Area where I can get the full, patriotic experience of July 4, with wonderful fireworks and a completely American, fun atmosphere.

Any ideas? Leave a comment below and share your suggestions for the best Fourth of July events in the Bay Area.
