Weekend Will End With Wild Weather

Temperatures to cool down over the weekend.

It's mid-May, yet we need to be prepared for a winter-like storm to pass through Clayton within the next few days. Friday will be the last of the 70 degree temperatures that we have been getting used to lately.

A cold front is expected to hit our city late Saturday night, dropping only a few weak showers. But quickly following this front is some cool air aloft in an upper level low pressure system. When this mass of cool air comes over Clayton, we can be sure that we will not being seeing any 70 degree days. There will be much cloud cover and the possibility of accumulating up to a third of an inch of rain between Saturday and Tuesday.

This system will allow for some precipitation that may fall in the form of rain, hail, or sleet (a mixture of the two).  So, although you may think you are ready for summer, take the time to enjoy what could be our last storm of the season.
