Weekend Planner: Oktoberfest This Weekend

Fill your weekend with brats and nuts.

  • Where/When: ; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Why Go: Experience Oktoberfest "Munich Style" in picturesque Clayton. Enjoy live music by The Internationals, a traditional biergarten, German food and beer, premium California wines, a large arts and crafts show, carnival and street performers.
  • Price: Free

Walnut Festival

  • When/Where: ; Thursday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Why Go: Four days of family fun with carnival rides, music, demonstrations and even fishing! This historical festival shouldn’t be missed.
  • Price: $5, $4 with a food donation, free for seniors 65 and over, children ages 2 and under, and active military personnel. Parking is $10.

  • Why Go: Borges Ranch’s annual two-day class will highlight raptor identification, behavior, habitat requirements and migration patterns of our local birds of prey.
