WeatherCast: Sunny Skies Coming to an End

The weather is about to change and meteorologist Gina De Vecchio has the details.

Springlike conditions in Clayton are ending. Thursday is expected to be a wet, cool and possibly thunderous day because an upper level trough has been deepening equatorward since Wednesday. As this system moves to the south, I forecast high wind speeds followed by cooler temperatures.

Lightning and thunder are possible because of the amount of vertical movement in the atmosphere. Expect beautiful, billowing cumulus clouds and don't be surprised if it hails.

There also is a slight chance of snow falling on Mount Diablo. However, that's unlikely since the bulk of the precipitation is expected to pass before the arctic air dominates the area. This cool air will keep temperatures low over the next few days.
