The BART Strike Survival Guide: Extra Ferry Service, Carpooling, Transbay Bus Service

Patch editors have pulled together as much information as possible to help commuters in the event of a BART strike Monday. Check out these articles for specifics:

Need a ride to the East Bay from San Francisco after work? Check out these new casual carpool locations on Spear and Beale streets to get you where you want to go.

Going to SFO? Grab a free shuttle from the Millbrae Caltrain station.

Park for free in BART lots during the strike! Use them to coordinate your casual carpool, BART officials suggest. If you hold a parking pass, never fear -- you will be reimbursed for each day of the strike.

The Central Contra Costa Transit Authority will set up temporary bus stops for its County Connection buses just outside BART stations to avoid picketing workers.

In addition, BART will operate charter bus service to San Francisco from the Walnut Creek, Dublin/Pleasanton, El Cerrito del Norte and Fremont BART stations, beginning at 5 a.m. This bus service will only be able to accomodate between 2,000 and 4,000 riders a day each way.
