Take Our Poll: How do You Feel About Flu Shots?

Flu shot clinic planned for next week.

CVS pharmacists will conduct a flu shot clinic Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Concord Senior Center from 9 to 11 a.m.

The shots will be available at the cost of $29.99 for 9-year-olds ad older.

Tdap vaccine, for ages 11 through 64, will also be available for $53.59 and pneumonia vaccine, for ages 65 and older, will be available for $95.99, according to the city. Pay or submit insurance forms at the clinic.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends persons over the age of 50; those with compromised immune systems; pregnant women; children under the age of five (especially two years and under) and those who work in the healthcare field to get an annual immunization against the flu.

But not everyone agrees for a variety of reasons. How do you feel?

I can't understand not getting it. I have a terminal disease and if I get the flu it could be the end for me. Why take the chance of harming the rest of us. It's like all the other shots to stop diseases...if people don't we are going to see more and more illness.

For certain people, it is recommended due to an inefficient immune system. The yearly flu vaccine is a conconction of the flu strains which the immunologists believe will be virulent for any given season. There is NO GUARANTEE that it will "stop diseases". PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS. I am exercising my liberty (while I have it) of CHOOSING not to receive a flu shot.

Just say no way! Never get one, don't plan to.

I don't have a problem with them, but since I work at home, and I'm not around that many people, I don't see a need.
