Rain in June? Believe it!

Over a half an inch of rainfall is expected to hit Clayton over the weekend.

The gloomy weather that is forecasted for this weekend should be the last of the chilly weather Clayton has experienced all spring. Once again, there is an unseasonable low pressure system dropping into California. It is projected to be positioned just off of the Northern California coast by Saturday, leaving the entire Bay Area wet for a majority of the weekend.

Friday is looking to be a comfortable day, as Clayton will see some sunshine allowing temperatures to get into the high 60s. However, conditions are expected to cool over Friday night as the cold front passes through, bringing arctic air, precipitation and wind along with it.

Clayton will accumulate the most rainfall over Saturday and Sunday.  Rain totals could reach an inch, which is astonishing for June, however fathomable due to the current position of the jet stream. Fortunately it looks like the jet stream will shift by Tuesday. This will allow a ridge of high pressure to build, and  permit Clayton to get temperatures in the 70 degree range.
