Occupy Concord to Rally and March Saturday Afternoon

Demonstration to focus on return of veterans, according to a news release.

Occupy Concord has announced another downtown protest.

The Saturday demonstration, titled "Rally to Restore Freedom, Find Justice and Heal the Wounded," will feature a speech by Cindy Sheehan, an anti-war activist known for occupying outside of former President George Bush's Texas Ranch in 2005 after her son was killed in combat during the Iraq War in 2004.

Organizers said tomorrow's rally and march will focus on supporting "... veterans coming back from war finding themselves in the midst of foreclosure and [homelessness]."

Additionally, organizers say they will march against the Military Industrial Complex, which the group attributes to lack of funding for social services and public education.

Organizers announced a noon rally, followed by a 1 p.m. march and a general assembly meeting at 2 p.m. at Todos Santos Plaza.
