KidFest, butterflies, and Peter Pan top the list of fun things to do this weekend

Kid Fest

  • Where/When: ; May 28, 29 and 30, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: Three days of quality live entertainment, activities and sports for children. There are 15 rides (ferris wheel, pony rides, EuroBungy trampoline, Cap’n Hook Fun House, petting zoo, giant slide and more). 
  • Price: $5 with a canned food donation; $6 without canned food; Seniors (65+) and those under 24 months are free
Borges Ranch Hike and Tour
  • Where/When: ; May 28, 2:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: Explore the historic Borges Ranch. Tour the 1901 ranch house and the 1903 carriage barn while learning what life was like on the ranch 100 years ago.
  • Price: Free
Memorial Day Observance
  • Where/When: ; May 30, 10:00am
  • Why Go: Renee Richardson, USN will be the keynote speaker at the Walnut Creek Remembers . . . Memorial Day Observance. The Walnut Creek Concert Band will perform and the USMC Color Guard will be on hand for the wreath laying at Veterans Memorial Plaza.
  • Price: Free
  • Where/When: ; May 28, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Why Go: After a brief presentation on butterfly biology, you go outdoors on a whimsical search for as many butterflies you can find.
  • Price: Free
Wish Upon A Star
  • Where/When: 321 Golf Club Road, Pleasant Hill; May 28, 29 and 30, 1:00pm and 7:00pm
  • Why Go: The Peter Pan Foundation brings on stage, Wish Upon a Star. Proceeds benefit Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Center and The Children’s Miracle Network.
  • Price: $20 for adults, $10 for kids 18 and under
