Forecast: Short Break From The Rain But More Coming

Forecast calls for a dry Thursday with rain returning Friday evening and then sunny skies early next week

Soak up the sunshine while you can.

The National Weather Service says we'll have mostly clear skies Thursday and possible for part of Friday.

Then, the rain returns.

The seven-day forecast calls for showers tonight with mostly sunny skies tomorrow. The highs are expected to be in the mid-50s.

On Friday, the weather service says the skies will be mostly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers after 10 a.m.

Forecasters say there is a 50 percent chance of rain on Friday night and a 40 percent chance on Saturday.

Sunny skies are predicted for Sunday, Monday and New Year's Day on Tuesday.

Highs will only reach the mid-50s between now and Tuesday.

From noon Tuesday to noon Wednesday, Concord received .62 inches of rain. Orinda received 1 inch exactly while Oakland got 1.12 inches.
