Five Things to do This Week

This week: Learn about estate planning, get homework help and play on giant inflatables.

1. Learn how to manage chronic insomnia and sleep deprivation by attending a class at the John Muir Women’s Health Center, 1656 N California Blvd., Ste. 100, in Walnut Creek, on Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dr. Barry Rotman will teach the class, which is meant for people who have trouble getting to sleep or sleeping through the night but who have not been diagnosed with a sleep disorder. The class is free but you can register here.

2. Get some free tutoring Wednesday at the . Group and one-on-one tutoring is available at no cost. In order to participate, fill out a group tutoring request form and join a tutoring group the following Wednesday, while school is in session. For one-on-one tutoring fill out the more detailed tutor request form. You will be referred to a tutor when one becomes available, but the library warns that the waiting list for individual tutors is long. Elementary school students meet in the library from 1:30 to 3 p.m., while middle- and high-school students meet from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

3. Watch the Clayton Valley High girls basketball team play Santa Rosa in the North Coast Section semifinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Eagles come into the game 25-2 for the season. The team beat rival Northgate to reach the semis. The game will be played at Clayton Velly High.

4.  , 1301 Franquette Avenue in Concord, is offering a pop-in play day Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Adults attend free while children play on giant inflatables for $8 per child. Children must wear socks.

5. Attend the free Creekside Arts Celebration on Friday through Sunday. The annual celebration marks the 16th birthday of the . The fun starts Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and will include a preview of the sale, entertainment, appetizers and awards. The celebration will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
