Cool and Windy Memorial Day Weekend

Temperatures will stay unseasonably cool for the holiday weekend.

The forecast for Memorial Day weekend doesn't involve a typical BBQ/pool party atmosphere. Instead of 80 degree weather, Clayton will be lucky to see temperatures getting into the 70s for the three-day weekend.

The jet stream is being stubborn and stationary with our ridge of high pressure too far off the coast to give Clayton any decent heat. However, the two systems dipping toward the city within our five-day forecast are weakening so we should not see precipitation. Do be prepared for windy and cool conditions, though.

This pattern is expected to continue for at least a week. High pressure ridging isn’t expected until a few days into June. Until then, enjoy the natural air conditioning of temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
