Concord Chamber Sees Big Growth in 2011

Improved economy and new enhancements are credited for attracting 120 new members since Jan. 1.

The year is only two months old, but for the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce it’s already a banner year because membership has swelled by 120 members since Jan. 1.

Chamber officials say that the increase in memberships reflect the upswing in the local economy.

The chamber works to promote commerce in and around Concord, and provides its nearly 700 members with networking opportunities and creative ways to promote their services.

“We provide all members with a free enhanced web page on the chamber’s website,” says membership director Kristin Peterson. “We have also added more events that give chamber members an opportunity to showcase their businesses, and we provide, at no cost for chamber members, ways for them to post and host deals or job opportunities that they may have in their company.” 

The chamber also serves as the voice of businesses on a local, state and federal level.
