Clayton Club Will Be A Rib Lovers' Heaven Saturday

There are 27 contestants and the winner brings home $300.

There's going to be a lot of sticky fingers and barbecue sauce on faces in downtown Clayton Saturday.

Twenty-seven local rib grillers will try and impress the judges with their special recipes at the 2nd Annual Rib Cook Off at the .

Last year, the first cook-off was a success, with 500 people attending and 16 contestants. Clayton Club owner Steve Barton expects more people this year, which will also feature live music and hamburgers and hot dogs for the kids.

"It's great event we do with the Clayton Community Business Association," Barton said. "We've formed a partnership and it was nice to see so many people last year."

Don't worry, everyone will get a chance to try some ribs. After the judging, each rib will be sold for a $1.

Rib Cook-Off Schedule

6 a.m. — Contestants check-in

8 a.m. — Cooking starts

9 a.m. — Bar opens

10 a.m. — Live music begins

Noon — Hot dogs and hamburgers available.

2 p.m. — Judging

3 p.m. — Winners announced.
