The Volleyball Diaries: Almost There

The Clayton Valley Eagles are nearing the end of their season, but looking forward to this week's games.

The CVHS girls volleyball team had a fun week.  With the combination of two very well played games (one versus Berean on Tuesday and one versus College Park on Thursday) and Homecoming Week, everybody had something to be excited about at team pictures on Friday.

Some of us were excited about the fact that we had won our most recent game against College Park. Tying it up in three instead of our usual five, it was obvious that we had improved. Aces, kills, and blocks littered the stats sheets, which brought joy to everyone's faces.  What's more, we won by greater margins each game...which helped make us feel good too.

But some were excited about our upcoming games. This next week will bring back our toughest competition, leading up to this season's final home game: the senior night game. This game brings a bit of nostalgia for some, as it could be one of the very last games they ever play.

And still some were excited about the football game that night. With no practice and everyone already being dolled up for team pictures, life was good.

Whatever the reason, the excitement was contagious. But the reason I was excited?  Well, we're almost there. On Tuesday, with a chance for redemption from a loss to Concord earlier in the season, we'll get a chance to solidify our chances at qualifying for NCS. We've almost made it, and believe me, we're ready.  Concord here we come.
