Pacific Service Credit Union Opens in Concord

The city has a new credit union, located by downtown Concord on Clayton Road. Concordians get $50 for opening a checking account by Nov. 30.

Looking for a new bank? Concord has an additional option for customers hoping to switch from the big guys to a smaller, local credit union. Pacific Service Credit Union moved here from Walnut Creek last month, making Concord its fifth location in the Bay Area.

Residents may have received a mailer this week with the words "Hello Concord!" printed on the front and a map of the credit union's location outside of downtown Concord at 3000 Clayton Road. The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and Concord city officials celebrated the bank's arrival with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Pacific Service Credit Union brought 80 employees to the new location and claims to be a "better neighbor" than other banks by offering free ATM locations that include Costco, 7-Eleven, Chevron and Extra Mile, plus a free checking account with no minumum balance or direct deposit requirements.
