• Provides for routine and preventive primary, prenatal, chronic illness, urgent care, drop in/telephone triage and family planning care for patients, through regular La Clinica schedules, ordering diagnostic tests and preparing a plan for treatment necessary.
• Provides health education to patients regarding medical issues (i.e., asthma, diabetes, etc.,) and updates health education materials available in clinic as needed.
• Requires a thorough knowledge of the methods, procedures and objectives of modern nursing/ medicine, including an understanding of medical terminology & treatment regimes.
• Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in evaluating emergent situations and rendering prompt decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and staff essential.
• Requires skill and ability to perform primary health care and family planning exams; and demonstrated ability in working with adults, teens and children in a comprehensive health care setting.
• Bilingual English/ Spanish required.
