The Southern-style BBQ gets cooking in Concord on May 2.

Southern-style food is coming to Concord May 2 when Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que opens in the Sunvalley Shopping Center.

The Concord restaurant will be the chain's 17th location and first in the Bay Area. Lucille's was founded in 1999 in Long Beach and has since opened up across California, as well as in Arizona and Nevada.

The menu consists of "slow-smoked barbeque, flavorful appetizers, soups, salads, burgers, sides, and desserts that are served with a large helping of down-home, friendly service," according to the owners.
