Halloween Is Nigh at Todos Santos Plaza

Farmers are preparing to bring pumpkins to Concord's weekly market.

Little pumpkins with streaks of green adorned the table at the Todos Santos Plaza Farmers Market.  Some were the size of a child’s hand; others were half the size of dodge balls. All were simply a tease of what’s to come next week.

Farmers told Patch that next week the big pumpkins be transported from the farms near Concord and into the downtown Farmers Market, where they will be placed prominently on display for purchase. Our sources say to expect them to cost between $5 and $20, depending on their size.

If you just can’t wait to carve a face into a locally grown squash, you could try one of the squashes nearby. They do look a bit like Bert, from Sesame Street, when you place them upright .
