Farmers’ Market Association To Announce $2.5K Winner

The Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association is also celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The Pacific Coast Farmers Market Association is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Part of the festivities includes giving away $2,500.

The association manages 70 weekly farmers market sin the San Francisco Bay Area including the one at Todos Santos Plaza in Concord, California. It is California’s largest coalition of markets that are certified distributors of products grown within the state.

Throughout the year, farmers’ markets have been celebrating the association’s silver anniversary with kids activities, photo exhibits and market giveaways.

“Our 25th anniversary celebrations have been a great opportunity to commend farmers, other producers and to showcase farmers’ markets,“ said John Silviera, Director of PCFMA.

“We are very grateful for all of the hard work and dedication of the farmers, our board members and staff,“ Silviera said.

Board President Patrick Fabian drew the name of the $2,500 giveaway out of a drawing machine. That person’s name will be announced at the San Leandro Farmers’ Market at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
