Outage Cut Power to Thousands in Concord

Thousands of homes and businesses lost power in Concord, California Friday morning.

A Pacific Gas & Electric spokesperson said a tree fell on a power line at 2597 E. Olivera Road, which truncated power to 2,686 people.

The outage began at 9:21 a.m. and ended at 10:43 a.m., according to PG&E. About 13 percent PG&E's power outages are caused by trees. 90 percent of those trees are healthy trees. When emergency work is required, the property owner is asked to pay for the cleanup costs.
