Relay For Life is Saturday and Sunday at Concord High

Less than a week to go until the 2012 Relay for Life is held in Concord.

Organizers of this year's Relay for Life event at Concord High School urge members of the community to participate in the two-day cancer fundraising event. 

As of Thursday morning, 109 participants had registered and a total of $18,580 had been raised.

You, too, can help cancer by registering online or simply by showing up at 4200 Concord Boulevard this weekend to support, said an event orgaznier. 

The opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, and the closing lap, at 9:45 p.m., Sunday, July 8.

Organizers say a kids area, raffles, food, DJ, live bands, and a martial arts performance have been all planned out.

The Luminaria ceremony will take place at 9 p.m. Saturday night.

Visit www.relayforlife.org/concordca to register. Both team and individuals are welcome to join in the American Cancer Society effort.
